Training

"In like manner, I suppose, Arcesilas would not have handled logic as Aristotle, nor Aristotle have criticized poets as Plato; yet reasoning and poetry are subject to scientific rules.

It is a great point then to enlarge the range of studies which a University professes, even for the sake of the students; and, though they cannot pursue every subject which is open to them, they will be the gainers by living among those and under those who represent the whole circle…"

Introduction

A training catalog whose main feature is adaptability: from university-level courses to corporate training for SMEs and nonprofits, spanning both strategic and "People & Culture" domains.

UI Design

A university-level course on how to design the user experience and the user interface (UX/UI, User eXperience & User Interface Design). The main challenge running through the course is generating a strong communication concept, more or less strategic, and translating it into a design system that includes interface design, or a digital component for apps and web apps. The course's focus is on studying and practicing the fundamental communication dynamics of digital objects distributed via the internet.

This syllabus has a well-tested track record: it has been repeated and updated every year since 2013 at NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan (AFAM), across its two specialist two-year programs in UX Design and Visual Design.

FORMAZIONE IA — BASE

Generative artificial intelligence: understanding, familiarisation and experimentation

A small teaching course with zero entry requirements, devoted to becoming familiar with artificial intelligence in a professional setting: 16 hours over four days to understand what generative AI is, how it works and how to actually use it in everyday work. It is meant for everyone, and above all for people who don't code: professionals, university students, the curious. The path is progressive — an introduction to generative AI, creating text, creating images, and applying and keeping AI in check in office work — and alternates essential theory with plenty of hands-on exercises.

The goal is not to learn a tool, which will have changed by tomorrow, but to acquire a method: writing effective prompts, checking what the machine returns, spotting its errors and hallucinations, and deciding consciously where AI helps and where it doesn't.

The course is public and can be browsed in full: slides for each day (also as PDF), materials, bibliography and glossary, reusable under a CC BY 4.0 licence.

2026Edition at SFL, Scuola Futuro Lavoro, Milan. Excellent feedback: one participant turned the course itself into a podcast; another applied what they learned, using AI, to retrain professionally, moving from the metalworking industry to a self-employed career as a tattoo artist.

FORMAZIONE IA — AVANZATA

Building websites and apps with AI agents

A course for people who already have technical skills but do not write code for a living: experienced designers and communicators, beginner or intermediate front-end developers, digital marketing professionals, project managers, freelancers and cultural organisations who want to run their own digital tools independently. We work with a frontier LLM in an agentic environment: the agent writes the code; the designer directs it, checks it and decides.

Two labs, starting from a real brief or one written in class. In the first, you build a website with a CMS (Grav, WordPress or Drupal) and its integrations; in the second, a prototype native app for iOS and Android that reads its content from that website. Both cover the whole cycle: from specification to release, from checking the generated code to privacy and maintenance.

Prerequisites: in-depth knowledge of your own operating system and basic use of the terminal; a basic understanding of how the internet works and how to use a server; basic use of git.

UX design for marketing experts

"UX design for digital marketing experts" is a course on the basics of designing digital objects, focused on marketers as an audience and on the World Wide Web.

We would once have called it "Introduction to web design"; today the course follows a classic design path — research, execution, testing — geared toward knowledge and skills in digital object design, with a focus on user experience, some elements from the world of design thinking, and without neglecting some notions of user interface (UI) design.

It has been held at the Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali "Guido Carli", known as "LUISS", in Rome and internationally.

Visual research design

This course takes a very radical approach. Aimed at creatives, it sets out to fix the widespread lack of sensitivity — in creative and strategic-communication fields — to the importance of research, visual or otherwise. Research, in fact, is a practice that enables more effective communication outcomes and the achievement of complex goals.

HTML & CSS programming (Front-end development)

A course for learning to code, starting from the simplest languages of the web. It can go quite deep technically, up to including JavaScript and web-server management — or it can keep a lighter goal: the skills to edit and customize existing code.

Designing and producing digital communication with AI agents

A hands-on, up-to-date course on using AI agents across the full production cycle of digital communication: from strategic ideation to writing, from graphic design to code, all the way to publishing.

Students work with prompts, agents and generative tools to speed up research, prototyping and production, without losing sight of creative direction and quality control, which remain firmly in the designer's hands.
